Going with the Flow

We will be using flow painting techniques to connect to our hearts.

A fantastic, unique, joyous workshop at the Pink Buddha combining the ancient practice of Chi Gong for health and well being, led by holistic life coach and Chi Gong practitioner and artist Minie Ramasamy together with with daily art sessions with Linda linked to similar ideas of flow and movement to cultivate the body, mind and soul experience. We are so very excited to have combined our forces, talents, knowledge and experience to present this very new kind of retreat.

Five full days at the studio discovering the ancient practice of Chi Gong and meditation linked to enhancing energy flow for spiritual and mental well being, complemented by art practices designed to make manifest this flow of energy in and around us, producing pathways of  creative  and artistic flow. At times we will work as a group, and others as individuals, and we will be creating our own very special sacred spaces within the studio and outside with the aim of promoting inner calm and positive energy.

Please explore the tabs at the top or click on links to find out all about the house, the studio, the locality and, of-course, all about Linda!

DATES:

The workshop consists of five full days from the 6th – 10th October, so if you are coming from a distance, we advise you to arrive on the 5th October and leave on or after the 11th October

If you would like to extend your stay for a number of nights after the 10th October, and if there is accommodation available at Casa Linda, you are invited to stay on for as long as you wish. You may wish to spend more time painting in the studio, or exploring this gorgeous area of Portugal with Linda as your guide. Rates for this will depend very much on what you choose, so just contact Linda for details.

ACCOMMODATION:

The price includes six nights’ accommodation either in Casa Linda, the apartment above the Pink Buddha Art Studio, where one single bedroom and a twin-bedded room for those happy to share are available. Full kitchen facilities are available and you will be provided with a range of breakfast items, and a simple snack lunch will be provided for all at the studio. There is a modern family bathroom, a further WC and laundry, and a living and dining room in the apartment. In the evening, you may choose to self cater, or dine out (see below “‘Evening meals“).

If Casa Linda is full, accommodation will be booked for you at the Lousada Country Hotel, a lovely hotel built from an old traditional wine estate, not far from the studio. Please let me know if you prefer single or shared accommodation. Breakfast will be provided at the hotel, lunch at the studio, and you may chose to dine independently in the nearby town of Lousada, eat at the hotel or join the group (see below “‘Evening meals“).

Evening Meals

If sufficient numbers of people are interested, it may well be possible to book evening meals as a group at a local restaurant not far from the studio. The food in this area will be typically hearty but delicious  Portuguese fare, rustic in origin, and sadly there will probably not be a good selection of vegetarian or vegan meals on offer and self-catering is advised for those on special diets. The evening meal supplement will be an extra 100 euros each for the five nights and includes soft drinks and water but not alcoholic beverages, which are very economical, with excellent local wines available. Please let Linda know on arrival if you are interested in this option.

OUR AIMS

During the five days, we will be considering the studio and the garden a very special, sacred, safe and magical space, which we hope will be filled with love, peace and kindness. We aim to work quietly and to respect each other’s personal boundaries, yet work in friendship and harmony, of-course. Some of our  main aims for the retreat, and results which we hope will be achieved, are as follows:-

  • All activities will be designed to promote inner calm and outward expression. A time to connect to your heart through meditation, movement and art,  bringing colours, movement and form to your work, calming the mind, and creating a flow of energy to ride along with gentle ease and total trust in the outcome.
  •  There will be moments when we work as a group, or in small groups, but there is also ample opportunity for moments of solitude and reflection which will be respected. If the weather is fair, the garden is full of delightful nooks and crannies,  time maybe to bring your journal, or write poetry, or sketch the beauty of Autumn as it unfolds.
  • The concept of ‘serendipity’ will be explored in all its wonderful forms, though our thoughts and the work we do will also provide inspiration, flow and some direction to our movements, thoughts and out art.
  • Inner spirituality and soul freedom will be celebrated, by mastering and directing our energy flow, calming the mind to lose the inner chat, or noise which can detract and torment us from our purpose and peace.

Let the flow of energy in our hearts and minds combine to give us grace and serenity, and lead to an inner awareness, flowing outwards, allowing our creativity and self-expression to flourish.
