Pet Portraits, Birds and Animals

I am happy to accept commissions for portraits of your pets, or even perhaps your favourite animals or birds.

Gracie, above, was a loving puss, like a ball of fluff. She was an explosion of marmalade ginger, brown, black and white.

The canvas can be any size from 20 cm (8″) up, and can be square or rectangular to fit in with your space available and preferences. I usually work in acrylics, with some added line work. I love working hard not only to render a good likeness, but to capture the personality and spirit of the animal, to make the animal come alive! It is a joyful process.

Prices begin at $200 for a 20cm (8″) square canvas and increase according to the area of the canvas, together with some consideration of time needed to complete the project. For postage costs, see below.

Once you have decided on the size you l can send you the price of the portrait, which is based on the canvas size and includes materials. Alternatively, I can send you a list of sizes and respective charges if you would like to choose.

If you would like more information, please contact me at linda.janet.chaves@gmail.com . I am happy to chat with you to talk in detail if you wish. I will always ask you to send me several photos of your pet or chosen animal or bird, something about their character and personality, and maybe even some stories about them! Together we can work out the best size and angle.

Shipping is via the Portuguese Mail Service, which is reliable and very fairly priced. Price will be determined via a combination of destination, size and weight. My assistant, Isabel, does all the packaging – she is now very experienced and an expert in combining packing for maximum protection while minimising extra size and weight.

Payment can be made via Paypal or international bank transfer. You can choose to pay in advance, or a 50% downpayment to cover the cost of materials etc, and a second payment on completion.

Postage costs are payable separately after dispatch by the same methods.
